The American food supply:
Making Americans fat, sick, and on drugs.$ All of course approved by our government agency the
FDA.
We are the most obese major developed country on the planet. In 2014, male obesity was 35.5% of the population, and female obesity
was 37.0% and increasing every year. In lower income areas, obesity is often over 70%. With high over-weight and particularly obesity
comes most often never ending medical problems such as diabetes, now another multi-billion dollar drug treatment industry.$
A couple examples: The G7 countries consisting of the USA, UK, France, Canada, Italy, Japan and Germany. From the UK to Germany, they have an "averaged" male / female obesity of 20.73. The USA "average" is 36.25, about a 75% increase. In the early 1980's, we were told by our government to cut down on saturated fat & cholesterol.$ This was a dream come true for the processed food suppliers turning out cheap most often sugar and chemical latent garbage for food that keeps people coming back for more.$ Later in the 1980's, the last big push to end the use of tobacco was started with smoking bans and extremely high tobacco taxes. Millions traded their tobacco habit for more and more food of typically the processed type.$ This is exactly when the people began gaining weight like crazy.
Decades ago, our government allowed giant chemical corporations such as Monsanto to begin genetically modifying the food supply
to accept their herbicides and pesticides. By most estimates, over 70% of the foods we consume today are not natural, and by most
studies typically never seen by the general public are shown to be lacking in nutritional value. Also, when eaten, we are
consuming these chemicals. Is it safe to say you'll never hear of these studies on your corporate television network when the
next commercial is selling this garbage?$
Monsanto maintains that its genetically modified (GMO) corn is nutritionally equivalent to non-GMO corn and our FDA of course
agrees. But a 2012 report, titled 2012 Nutritional Analysis" Comparison of GMO Corn versus Non-GMO Corn, tells a completely
different story.
In fact, it turns out that GMO corn is essentially nutritionally dead and laced with toxins in amounts that exceed those the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) deems safe.
Nutritionally, the study found that NON-GMO corn is 20 times richer in nutrition energy
and protein compared to GMO CORN.
NON-GMO corn has more calcium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, iron and zinc. AGAIN, You
could hardly expect to hear this on todays powerful corporate media when the next commercial is selling this garbage.
The powerful food industry has been allowed by our politicians and government agencies like the FDA to keep us from knowing what's in the food we eat today. They don't think we're smart enough to figure out what we should eat. Watch a short less than two minute video by a politician that's been trying for years to get GMO labeling on our food.
According to this report, GMO corn contains 13 parts per million (ppm) of glyphosate, the active ingredient in the popular herbicide
Roundup. According to the EPA, the maximum amount of glyphosate allowed in drinking water is 0.7 ppm (parts per million). So GMO corn
contains 18.5 times the safe amount as set by the EPA? Europe allows only 0.2 ppm of glyphosate and Europeans have a longer
life on this planet than do Americans and are considerably healthier. They also have far less premature deaths from
the top causes of death in the USA. Hello!
What millions of Americans are putting in their mouths as food today is scary. Over 90%
of the floor space in an average super market today is not real food. It's food that would probably shorten the life span of a wild
hog, give it cancer, heart disease or whatever.

In 1910, the lifetime risk of type II diabetes was 1 in 25 to 30. The lifetime risk today is 1 in 3 according to the Center for Disease
Control (CDC) in Atlanta.
In 1910, Butter consumption was 18 pounds per capita. In the year 2000 butter consumption went
below 4 pounds. When we were using a lot of high quality butter, mortality from heart disease was below 10 percent. Infections killed
a majority of people. A high percentage of infants and women of child-bearing age died during the birthing process. Today as we consume
what were told is a low fat healthy diet the mortality from heart disease is 40 to 45 percent.
In 1910, Lard rendered fat from pigs raised outdoors, was the #1 cooking fat enjoying 70 percent of the market. Lard was the best source of Vitamin D and a good source of palmitoleic acid, a monounsaturated anti-microbial fatty acid that kills bacteria and viruses. Today highly processed GMO soybean oil has 70 percent of the market with zero vitamin D. Now the same experts who told us not to eat lard are telling us we are deficient in Vitamin D? Are we all crazy listening to this BS? You can't beat good old fashion empirical evidence. Look around
We can look back at thousands of photo's from the early twentieth century. Where are all the over-weight and obese people?
The people in these photo's from the 1920's never heard of a low fat diet. It's not likely many ever heard of a vegetarian diet. No one knew what cholesterol was. It's also unlikely that anyone ever heard of a treadmill or a diet plan for losing 10 pounds in
a month guaranteed or your money back. Also, a lot of people smoked at this time in history, and they didn't know what
a filtered cigarette was.
As far as life expectancy is concerned, in early times, those that were wealthy or prominent most often lived as long as we do today. As in another writing on my main website page (Health Myths and Lies) under the tobacco section, I show information on the first ten presidents. Our first ten presidents certainly had the best food and life style compared to those living a hard life on a farm. Seven of them smoked. All seven that smoked lived to basically the same age as Americans do today, an average of 78.7 years from birth. In 2014, the Americans life expectancy from birth was 79.3 years. In America, in 1960, the average life span averaged between male and female was 69.8 years. Hello!
Fortunately, the seven presidents that smoked
did not have the medical world, billion dollar non-profit anti-tobacco groups, government agencies and multi billion dollar
cancer and heart non-profits telling them that they were going to shorten their life or die of lung cancer if they
smoked.
The three presidents that did not smoke lived a much shorter life of 74.3 years from birth, a whopping 4.4 years less.
Stress were told is dangerous and can be a major cause of heart failures or stroke. Who could have more
stress than the first ten presidents dealing with the problems of that time?
The next ten presidents #11 through 20 (excluding one
assassinated) all born between 1791 and 1831 lived part of their lives after the beginning of the industrial age. We now
had a basic beginning of processed foods, the ability to can and preserve etc. Their average age to death was 64.5 years. Is
it safe to assume in their later years they had improved medical care?
Of course the life expectancy in the early 20th century was shorter than today for countless reasons. To think it was because of their diet is absurd. All countries throughout history had shorter life expectancies in early times. They had high birth mortality and little understanding of basic diseases and infections etc. Today we have a better understanding of basic health and diseases, vastly improved medical technology, better sanitation systems, a vastly improved understanding of germs and diseases, fast efficient emergency services etc. In the late 1800's early 20th century, most people lived on farms. Many were of low education, very poor and did not have access to the basic medical services and knowledge as everyone does today. Today in many cases, this might actually be a good thing.
